🚨 The DMCA That Wasn't

Recently, I received a message accusing me of "copyright infringement" for using the name washiez and some HTML/CSS.

The Message I Got:


Subject: Unauthorized Use of Copyrighted Material – Immediate Takedown Request

To monkey_kid03

I am the legal copyright holder of the website and associated content located at washiez.lol. It has come to my attention that your website, washiez.co.uk, is unlawfully using my copyrighted HTML, CSS, and brand assets — including a visible watermark that links directly to my work.

You are also using the name "washiez.lol", which is protected under my copyright and constitutes a violation of my intellectual property rights. This usage is unauthorized and infringes upon my exclusive rights.

I am formally requesting the immediate removal of all infringing content from your website. If you do not comply within 48 hours, I will file a formal complaint with your hosting provider and pursue additional legal remedies if necessary.

Proof of infringement, including screenshots and content comparisons, can be provided upon request.

This letter serves as an official DMCA Takedown Notice. Treat this matter with urgency.

Well, this is absolute bullshit.

Let’s clear this up real quick:

✅ I coded the site using my coding knowledge + particles.js – there’s no "skid".
✅ I didn’t even link to their site — I literally referenced them once, as a comparison.
✅ RTU is mad because it looks better than theirs – sorry, not sorry.
✅ My domain is legal, unique, and live – cry harder.
✅ We aren't skids – our code is separate from yours.

Here is the full timeline on what happened:

22/04/25 9:00 PM GMT – An image of my website was shared in the RTU Discord. 22/04/25 9:01 PM GMT – The image quickly went viral, and users began flooding into the Discord. 22/04/25 9:03 PM GMT – Mye invited most of the RTU members, and a conversation started. 22/04/25 9:07 PM GMT – The script was deobfuscated. A remake is expected in the coming days. ⚠️ 22/04/25 9:08 PM GMT – I was banned from RTU on my main account, so I rejoined on an alt. 22/04/25 9:10 PM GMT – A mass ban occurred. We added anti-raid protections and CAPTCHA. 22/04/25 9:15 PM GMT – Spoke with the RTU owner; a DMCA was nearly issued. 22/04/25 9:17 PM GMT – The website was taken down at RTU's request. 22/04/25 9:20 PM GMT – I was invited to a test server where they began a countdown for me to join VC (I didn’t). 22/04/25 9:22 PM GMT – Server invites were paused, and old invites were deleted. 22/04/25 9:25 PM GMT – Reported the other test server to Discord; the invite has since expired. 22/04/25 9:33 PM GMT – I went to bed; our admins began setting up verification channels.

Well, how dumb is Ribs?

He’s kinda dumb, for example:

The scripts were previously named "Washiez.co.uk" — a completely different domain from "Washiez.lol".
He thought we were using namecheap, when in reality we were using Cloudflare.
RTU somehow blamed us for using their exact name... even though we never did. 🤔
Maybe next time they’ll learn how domains work before throwing a tantrum.

Next up, a raid...

While I was asleep (~10:10 PM GMT), RTU members raided our Discord, spamming accusations about being a "skid". There were 2 bots participated in this incident: emix#0443 and RUSSIANS BOT#8586. The pupils responsible are BBQLOVER65 & soleshoer.

Also, we didn't skid none of your code. Literally, you said 'chatgpt skid' and said 'code it yourself'. Well, I'm sorry, RTU, but if you need help, there's only a few ways, but the easiest is AI. So piss off.
